It is old news that the price of Ethereum is getting bullish with the day. The underlying driver is real-life usage of Ethereum.
Today, several news stories hit the wire showing how more widespread Ethereum is becoming.
First, Ethereum is being used in a large crowdfunding campaign to create a movie. A psychological thriller titled Braidwill was announced to be the first narrative feature film to be funded through a crowdsale using Ethereum. That was reported by IBtimes.co.uk. An Ethereum funded campaign for a movie is definitely unusual, and it indicates trust in Ethereum.
Second, a startup called Brave raised the equivalent of $35 million in about 30 seconds to fund a new web browser. Brave is the brainchild of Brendan Eich, the co-founder of the Mozilla Foundation, maker of the original Mozilla browser. Eich’s new web browser is designed so that users can make micropayments to web publishers they like using Ethereum, based on how many articles they read. That was reported by Fortune.com.
Third, even Economist.com is paying attention to cryptocurrencies. Although it questions whether cryptospace is in a bubble, it is a good thing that is pays attention, and, in doing so, spreads the message in order to have cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum become more mainstream. Let’s not forget: only 2 percent of U.S. citizens know very well what bitcoin is.
